What are blocks of AAC?

Produced in a variety of sizes and strengths, Autoclaved Aerated Concrete is a lightweight, load-bearing, highly insulating, and resistant building material. When compared to conventional red bricks, AAC blocks are three times lighter in weight.

In Sweden, the material known as Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) was created in 1924. It is currently among the most widely used building materials in Europe and is growing quickly in many different countries worldwide.

The usual components for making AAC include lime, sand, cement, water, and a tiny bit of rising agent. 

A few chemical processes that give AAC its light weight (20% of cement's heaviness) and warm features take place when AAC is blended and cast in structures.

As a result of its extreme heat, fire, and sound resistance, as well as its lightweight nature and exceptional workability, flexibility, and durability, AAC blocks are an unique and superior kind of building material. Cement, gypsum, quicklime, sand, and water are a few of its primary components. 

An AAC block can contain up to 80% air total volume, depending on its density. The low structural compression strength of AAC can also be related to its low density. Up to 8 MPa (1,160 PSI), or roughly 50% of standard concrete's compressive strength, can be supported by it.

Fire Resistant

Since it comprises solely of minerals, AAC is categorized as a non-flammable building material. It is heat-resistant and fire-resistant to 1200°C, which sets it above other building materials. Faster Construction

Non-toxic

There are no harmful gas components in items produced with autoclaved aerated concrete. The product does not support or harbor rodents.

Resistance to Moisture

Moisture protection is a major factor since moisture may harm buildings from both internal and external sources.

Soil moisture and precipitation are samples of external moisture sources. Both internal moisture—typically in the shape of humidity—and external moisture can result in condensation on walls and within walls.

Because of its highly porous structure, AAC is known for its "macro" pores. Small air bubbles that are evenly distributed throughout the material can be identified as macro pores. Water thus absorbs very little into the AAC material.

Ecologically friendly

Since AAC is non-toxic, it doesn't contaminate the land, water, or air. Waste from the cutting procedure is recycled back with raw materials and used again throughout the manufacturing process. Almost no garbage is produced while building. When compared to the manufacturing of other materials, the energy used in this process is negligible. Pollutants are not released during the production process, and no hazardous waste products or byproducts are produced. Natural raw materials are used to make AAC. Because the final product is three times the amount of the raw materials utilized, it is incredibly ecologically and resource-friendly.

Lightweight

One of the most significant features of AAC blocks is their small weight. These blocks have a cellular structure that was developed during the manufacturing process. Millions of microscopic air cells contribute to the light weight structure of AAC blocks. These lightweight blocks possess a density of 550 - 650 kg/m3, making them lighter than water.

Perfect Size and Shape

The manufacturing procedure of AAC Blocks guarantees stable and regular dimensions. Factory finished blocks provide a consistent foundation for the cost-effective application of a variety of finishing methods. Internal walls can be finished using direct P.O.P. rather than plastering.

The block has a compressive strength of (3-4.5) N/mm3 on average, which is superior to most light weight blocks approximately 25% stronger than comparable products of the same density.

High Resistance to Water Penetration

Because of its cellular and interrupted micro structure, AAC products outperform typical clay bricks in water penetrability, resulting in the exterior surface of AAC walls provides higher resistance to water penetration than traditional clay bricks.
